By accessing or using PinPint ("the App"), whether the website at pinpint.io or the PinPint apps for iPhone and Android, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and contributors of pub suggestions. Section 10 sets out additional terms that apply when you use the mobile apps.
PinPint is strictly for users aged 18 years or older. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this age requirement. We reserve the right to suspend or delete any account we reasonably believe belongs to a minor.
PinPint does not encourage excessive alcohol consumption. The App is a discovery and social tool. Please drink responsibly.
When you add ratings, notes or suggestions, you grant PinPint a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use that content in the App.
When you log a drink price, you grant PinPint a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use, copy, publish, combine with other prices, and license to others, including for money, the price, the drink, the pub and the date. Your name, your account and anything else that identifies you are never part of what is published or licensed. Section 5A says more.
You agree not to submit content that is:
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines.
Every piece of content another person can put in front of you can be reported, and every person can be blocked.
We review every report within 24 hours and remove content or suspend accounts where these guidelines have been broken. If something needs attention faster than that, email danielhowley@outlook.ie and mark it “URGENT, Safety”.
Child sexual abuse and exploitation is never tolerated here. What that covers, and what we do about it, is in our child safety standards.
PinPint provides pub locations, opening hours and pricing as a convenience. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all information is current or correct. Always verify opening hours and details directly with the venue before visiting.
The prices people log in PinPint, taken together, are the PinPint price database. PinPint publishes figures from it, such as the average price of a pint in a town, and may license the figures, and the prices under them, to others: for example to newspapers, tourism bodies, researchers and the drinks trade.
What is published or licensed is the price, the drink, the pub, the date, and whether it came from a drinker or from the pub itself. Never who logged it.
If you delete your account, your prices are kept with nothing linking them to you, so that the figures they are part of do not change. Prices already included in a figure or a file that was published or licensed before you deleted your account cannot be recalled from it.
A pub that sends us its prices through the pub price form grants the same licence over those prices.
Most of the pub names, addresses and positions in PinPint are from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, and available under the Open Database Licence. OpenStreetMap is credited wherever that information is shown. The prices are not from OpenStreetMap and are not covered by that licence.

PinPint is available as an app for iPhone on the Apple App Store and for Android on Google Play. These Terms cover your use of those apps as well as the website. Your use of an app is also subject to the terms of the store you got it from (Apple's Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, or the Google Play Terms of Service). Where those store terms conflict with these Terms in respect of an app, the store terms prevail to the extent of the conflict.
The following apply to the iPhone app:
Your use of the Android app is also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app.
Some features of the app need permissions you grant on your device, in particular your location and, if you choose, notifications. You can grant or withdraw these at any time in your device settings. If you withdraw a permission, the features that depend on it will not work. The app uses your location only while it is open.
The app may receive automatic updates that fix problems or make small changes. Larger changes are delivered as a new version through the app store. We do not guarantee that the app will run on every device or operating system version, or that older versions of the app will keep working.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes. Continued use of PinPint after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
